Writers point

Japan is well known because of natural calamities. The most prominent is the presence of tsunami. Japan is prone to such attacks since it is situated as a joint with four different plates. They include the Pacific plate, Philippine plate, Eurasian plate, and North American plate. The pulling together of plates is what brings about the existence of an earthquake. Earthquakes have been a source of distress to the people of Japan. This is because it has claimed a lot of lives as well as property belonging to citizens.

Support of this point

Support for this point can be given out through the analysis of the various earthquakes that have hit Japan. From the year 1990, it is estimated that nearly 2.3 million people have died from 2233 earthquakes. It is even important to note that the very many fatalities have occurred due to ti violent earthquakes. In the year 2004, the Indian Ocean earthquake gave to the rise of a tsunami which led to the destruction of property and claimed very many lives.

What is notable about this support and its effectiveness?

The most notable thing is that Japan has been described as the pioneer of disaster management (Hobiger, 2016). Their humanitarian support towards the issue has amazed very many people across the world even though the magnitude of the earthquakes has affected the process of disaster management.

To make the process effective, disaster management activities should be reviewed by looking at the importance of having early high-tech warning systems that can reduce risk.
