Choose a passage from Jerome’s Letter to Eustochium that interests you and that contains multiple biblical citations, references, and/or allusions (though please avoid ones we covered in class). Using the biblical references provided at the bottom of the page, unpack the ways that Jerome is using the scripture in your chosen passage. How is he appropriating and recontextualizing these texts from the Hebrew bible and/or New Testament to make an argument about sexual practice and (more broadly) to persuade his readers of a particular way of looking at the world.
