Part One- Shirin Neshat’s works
The artworks of Shirin Neshat that I have chosen are the artworks of “Rebellious Silence” and her film which is known as “Women without men.” The two kinds of viewers that the artworks are focused are the western viewers as well as the women of any geographical origin. The target audience of Shirin Neshat is the Iranian Women. I was able to identify this because most of her artworks are focused on the history, tradition, and social status of the Iranian women. Shirin Neshat’s artworks may be found in several galleries such as Tel Aviv Museum, Tate Gallery in London, Walker Art Center in Minneapolis as well as the Museum of the Modern Art in New York.
The artworks are used to pass a message of women struggle in Iran which is contributed by the social lifestyle of Iran. The message differs from the viewers. For the Western viewers, the message shows how the British, as well as the American governments, contributed to destroying Iran. The film is created so as the western viewers would be in a position to understand that Iran had a history before the Islamic revolution, but there was a time that Iran was democratic and had secular societies. The Artworks try to show that Iran had a different life before foreign intervention (Women, 2010).
For the other viewers' women of any geographical origin, the artworks portray that women are the primary object that can provide information of a given community. The artworks of Shirin Neshat have provided critical information of Iran based on women and how they have fought for their voice to be had (Neshat, 2018). The artworks depict the how the Iranian women have struggled to find their position in their society and for their voices to be heard. Thus this puts across a message of why any woman from any geographical origin should fight for her voice to be heard as well as earn respect from her society
Shirin Neshat artworks pass a message of the social inequality in our societies through the focusing on the struggles that Iranian women have gone through since the Islamic revolution in 1979. Her role as an artist brings awareness to the world through portraying her artwork and trying to bring equality to our societies. The works that I chose provide a connection to how Shirin Neshat understands her role as an artist as well as the social role by providing different pictures as well as the film which represents the struggle that the Iranian woman goes through to make her voice heard.

Women, T. (Director). (2010). Art in Exile [Motion Picture].
Part Two-Tania Bruguera works of art
The two series of artworks that have been done by Tania Bruguera are the Migrant People Party as well as the Behavior Art School (Catedra Arte de Conducta) Another piece of work that I chose from Tania Bruguera is the “Ana Mendieta Tribute .” All the artworks named above have a single theme which equal rights for immigrants. They demonstrate the struggle that the immigrants go through in order to be able to survive in a foreign country. And through art, the immigrants are able to bring a social as well as a political attention regarding their status.
In the Migrants People Party (MPP) Tania brings together a group of immigrants whose platform is geared towards their political presence to be in a position to access their rights as other human beings. The parties idea is aimed at proving that dignity is not associated to any nationality and thus there are no borders for that. A party is a form of art because it provides the immigrants' personnel’s with equal rights as the regular citizens.
Behavior Art School (Catedra Arte de Conducta) is another artwork done by Tania Bruguera. In this art, she was intending on establishing a space for providing an alternative training to the art studies systems (brugueratania, 2017). The public art intervention was focused on reviewing as well as discussing the sociopolitical conduct as well as being able to understand how one can use art as an instrument of ideology transformation through civic action activation. Actions were focused on changing the society through useful art. The Behavior Art School work provides the political discourse which stems from art as well as promotes the relationship between context as well as art exploration.
The Ana Mendieta Tribute is another piece of work that is done by Tania Bruguera by redoing performances as well as objects which had been created Ana Mendieta an immigration artist. Tania Bruguera redid Ana’s artworks by making them represent the Cuban culture more clearly. The project was conducted when there was a massive Cuban migration and the official migration policy was silenced by the official culture as well as the media due to the political effect (bruguera, 2017). The migration policy silencing provided a motivation to Tania to conduct her first gesture approach of the political art notion as well as the confrontation with the authoritative structures.
Following the researched sourced the social role of Tania Bruguera was to fight for the access of equal rights for the immigrant population. In most of her works, she mobilizes people and trains them on how to use art as a tool to enforce change in the society they are living in. For instance, in the Behavior Art School, she brings people together and through their artworks they are able to fight for equal rights as the regular citizens. Tania uses art to bring awareness of change to the community.

Part Three- Shahzia Sikander and Yinka Shonibare works of arts
Shahzia Sikander is an artist who was born in Pakistan but lives in the United States. She is a contemporary artist who merges the issues of the Middle Eastern Identity with the historical art reference. She fuses the traditional Indo- Persian painting miniature which develops a bridge between two cultures. The main purpose of her artwork is to outline an issue and not define it. On the other Hand, Yinka Shonibare is a self-made artist who grew up in the United Kingdom as well as Nigeria. Yinka investigates social as well as political histories which are related to the postcolonialism as well as globalization where thereafter he reconfigures imagery iconic based on the Western art history canon using an ironic as well as playful touch. The chosen series of artwork of Yinka ( Odile &Odette, which as done on a screen print with the gold leaf on a deckled hand) and Shahzia ( Apparatus of Power which is done on a handmade wasli paper with watercolor, tea water, vegetable color as well as dry pigment) they both portray the need for equality among the races.
In regards to the Odile & Odette which is done by Yinka Shonibare demonstrates equality among the African as well as the Europeans. By the two girls dancing signifies how globalization has contributed to equality among our communities and has contributed to the borrowing as well as respecting of different cultural behaviors. Through globalization, the diversity of the world has been made closer as well as adaptable (Shonibare, 2017).
Following the Shahzia series of artwork regarding the Apparatus of power focus on how all the cultures believe in one supreme being in which they all seek their guidance. The artwork demonstrates that the diversity of the ethical conduct is obtained from one source which is the supreme being (www.artsy.net, 2017). The artwork enables the people from different cultures as well as religion to respect each other’s choice without having to condemn one another.
Both artist Yinka, as well as Shahzia, have used their artworks to contribute to social unity as well as the respect of each other cultural and religious background. Through their different forms of art, they are playing their social role of encouraging equality among the different cultures where in turn healthy as well as firm societies are established.

Part Four- Ai WeiWei
Ai Weiwei is among the most renowned Chinese artist in today’s world. Ai Weiwei uses his artwork to call for violation of human rights, the artist has expanded the art definition to involve the other new types of social engagement. His artwork has caused him to receive a beating from the police, at some point, he was kept under a house arrest, his studio has been bulldozed and at times subjecting him to strict surveillance for countries that do not recognize free speech as a right. The artwork that he provides makes him to viewed as a threat to the corresponding society. In regards to the increasingly global scale Ai Weiwei’s efforts to fight for human rights are focused on those people living in poverty as well as oppression and those who may not have a voice
An example in the video Never sorry which is done by Ai Weiwei points out a segment where he decided to investigate the number of students who had died following an earthquake after the government denied informing its citizens about the students’ information. Ai Weiwei conducted the investigation using his blog as well as visiting the site of the incident in order to provide the Chinese people with accurate information (Weiwei, 2018). Following the devastating earthquake Sichuan Ai Weiwei developed a project which was known as the “aiflowers” where he invited every Chinese to make a flower in memory of the children who died in the tragedy. Ai Weiwei is not afraid to speak out his mind when it comes to issues concerning human rights. Another example that points out the kind of artist Ai Weiwei is a project which was called “A beautiful life” this project is about a man who was denied entry back to China and through the aid of Ai Weiwei as well as the social media the man was granted entry after 92 days of protesting at the Narita Airport.
