Trade was a big foundation of the slave trade. The trade of goods required slaves to work the plantations the crops were produced from. Also the big growth of the population was convenient because millions of Africans were forced to migrate.

The Atlantic Slave was the most monument. The Europeans looked to the Africa as a source to provide labor for the plantations that were being developed across the western hemisphere. Bantu migration spread agriculture to all over the continent. These slaves had no rights, they could be punished at will , they could perform any type of work and be sold anytime. African slavery was different from other lands. African law did not recognize private property, only land in the communities. The African power came from the control of the human labor not the land itself. Those who had the most slaves could produce the most crops therefore collect the most wealth.
