Researched Argument Paper:

Select a topic from your tentative major and complete an effectively structured study of that narrow topic. This distinct, academic topic will be approved by your peer editor and the Instructor. Models of the research paper will be examined and discussed. This paper brings our study of academic research to the absolute center of your thinking and training. For example, if your interest is Instructional Technology, then apply our prewriting skills, select a narrow topic, and seek out a range of scholarly research.

The Researched Argument Paper continues our look at variety of effect, structure, and the tools of academic writing under study in this class. Research is central to your selection of topic, prewriting, context, support, and your intended audience.. Particularly important would be your own individual strengths and suggestions for growth as evident within your writing folder. Peer editing will be central to the development of the review’s movement. MLA formatting requirements will be examined.

Remember, examine your selected issue in light of the critical reading skills and avenues as modeled in class – see resources in Assignments. Exactness, intricacy, and variety of thought will be stressed – see class resources and models.

Writing Goals:

MLA/APA Format, sentence variety (class notes), transitions (class notes), modifiers (class notes), word choice, argument essay structure, paragraph structure…
