• The attributions each party (including ourselves) makes in a

given ituation dramatically influence the behaviour of each

party toward the other;

• Some attribution maintain tru t between the partie , and ome

not only de troy tru t, they al o prevent any rebuilding of trust;

• Attributions are frequently based on incomplete or incorrect

information, along with preconceptions and stereotype ;

• Attribution can be changed.

How we work with the partie ' attribution will greatly influ­

ence the outcome of the conflict.
