INTRODUCTION
In this report, we will go through an example of a DXC Technology firm project that may be used to gauge an organization's penchant for the platform and some of the optional methods for making the most of it. Because items are frequently carried across countries, the information technology business has linked many buyers and sellers around the globe. Due to the I.T. industry's consistent expansion over the last several years, I.T. professionals in the U.S. now have a promising professional future. The I.T. sector is also sensitive to changes in the elements above. Companies like DXC technology have to continually adjust their business strategies, cost structure, income, and pricing to meet the shifting demands of their consumers as the economy undergoes fluctuations beyond their control. According to Goldfinch & Kochar (2022), it is possible to determine prospective risk factors and external opportunities affecting the I.T. sector if businesses maintain track of different trends and the economic life cycle.
According to Powell et al. (2022), With this information in hand, managers and investors may decide whether or not to put money into or make adjustments to areas that businesses like DXC technology might negatively impact. To identify potential trouble spots for DXC tech, it is necessary to get a more profound familiarity with each of the elements of the PESTEL framework. Because DXC technology operates in a regulated and limited business to safeguard I.T. professionals via various operating standards, this research first considers political and legal variables that could affect DXC technology, such as possible government action (Dairo et al., 2021). The economy's expansion directly impacts DXC technology's external environment since it increases the amount of money available to be spent on the information technology industry. The future of demand and choice will also be affected by societal variables like demography, which will change over generations. Finally, technical and environmental issues are also part of DXC technology's external environment since the success of DXC technology's personnel is tied to how well they can adapt. That's according to a recent study (Gade, 2019). DXC technology's future success depends on addressing these elements of the external environment, which all play a part in the company's current success or failure. The challenging component is identifying the locations where DXC technology is vulnerable. This section of the paper's study focuses on two possible issues in the external environment of DXC technology.
DSC technology's two main challenges are the economy and staff morale. As an employer, DXC technology faces the most challenging economic element in the form of rising employee expectations. Since this accounts for such a significant chunk of DXC technology's operational expenditures, any increase in problems at work would directly and immediately impact the company's profit margin (Zeisel, 2020). Paying personnel is the highest expense, making technological aspects the second most significant challenge for DXC technology. DXC is the least effective in lowering labor costs compared to other technologies (Oswal, 2019).
Internal Environment Issues
DXC Technology is a company with its internal environment, which includes its management, corporate culture, operations, marketing, human resources, finances, accounting department, I.T. department, and R&D division. The internal environment of a business consists of the components above. DXC technology's current internal environment is robust and keeps pushing the company to new heights. Nonetheless, DXC technology has issues inside its internal environment because every business faces similar challenges stemming from the above sources
Identification of Stakeholders' Problems
When an employee has a lot of responsibilities at home and work, the tension between the two might build. The term "work-family conflict" refers to a specific kind of inter-role conflict characterized by the difficulty or impossibility of balancing the needs of one's professional and personal spheres. Employees in the information technology industry are especially prone to work-life conflict due to the pressure to meet strict project deadlines. Integrating individual and professional life isn't as clearly connected to other aspects of job structure (Vaitkevičiūtė, 2018). DXC Technology has shifted toward more collaborative or team-oriented types of organizations to enhance quality, productivity, and collaboration in the workplace.
Little is known about how different organizational structures at work impact workers' capacity to balance work and family life, despite widespread agreement that collaborative and coordinated employee efforts boost organizational success. On the one hand, working with others or coordinating tasks with them may increase adaptability if employees can fill in for one another or develop norms of reciprocity in which they agree to assist one another fulfill work and non-work obligations. However, if more meetings and peer pressure result from increased cooperation and group coordination, working hours may grow, and routines may become stricter. The nature of the influence of the constantly evolving DXC technology workplace design on work-life balance is likewise unknown. Workers may have side effects comparable to information technology if they use portable computers, faxes, voice mail, and email to carry their work home. While information technology offers many benefits, including more flexibility, it also raises concerns about the intrusion of work into one's personal life (Bury, 2019).
Competing Demands of the Stakeholders
When management expects more to be accomplished than can be achieved with the current level of resources, competing demands arise. Managerial and decision-maker stress over resource allocation and prioritizing is exacerbated when conflicting requests are seen as equally important. Role conflict occurs when an individual is expected to fulfill many roles that are incompatible with one another. For example, the duties of being a boss and a friend sometimes seem at odds with one another. Likewise, the demands of delivering quality service while keeping prices down may be challenging to reconcile. How those involved in a dispute choose to approach and respond to it, rather than just reacting to it and focusing on its outcomes, may significantly impact whether or not that conflict ends up being destructive.
Instead of being preoccupied with the work at hand, the parties should concentrate on controlling the conflict settlement process and taking advantage of the opportunities presented by the current situation. Employees at the DXC have a negative outlook and lack initiative since they are under-trained and are expected to make sales immediately upon joining the company. Employees at DXC Technology lacked familiarity with the company's mission, beliefs, and history. Formerly, workers were only provided little detail on their duties, performance, and assessment processes. Some of the more junior staff members also sought to take charge, stomping on the toes of the more seasoned veterans of the company. Because of the lack of clarity around role expectations, workers are unsure of what is expected of them regarding actions, results, and contributions. Lack of training has resulted in workers being unable to do their duties (Raddats et al., 2022).
Without a detailed plan outlining the steps needed to complete a task, team members are more likely to become sidetracked from their true purpose and contribute nothing to the company's goals. Hiring fantastic individuals who already possess the required skills is not enough. A more profound familiarity with the company's plans and goals is required. The manager's help is crucial in realizing one's full potential and achieving one's goals. A firm's employees also need to know what they're expected to do and how the organization operates. A precise job description for each function and a set of goals, targets, and deadlines are required to decrease uncertainty in operational engagement with the management team, including developing an employee handbook. The leadership needs to assign everyone in the unit specific tasks. The group's leader or manager is responsible for ensuring everyone is on the same page and can freely express their thoughts and opinions. The team can better function with these guidelines (Royo-León et al., 2018).
STRATEGIC SOLUTION TO PROBLEMS
After evaluating DXC technology's present state and doing a SWOT and firm-level trend analysis, it's time to consider any problems that may arise due to DXC technology's internal and external environments. This will allow the investigation to pinpoint the specific internal and external issues confronting DXC technology. This research will present management with explanations and remedies to consider when problems in the external and internal environment have been identified.
· Establishing a needs hierarchy based on which commitments provide the closest and most effective support for the company's objectives is the first step in managing conflicting obligations. Market-based needs hierarchies include management estimating the expense of meeting demand and weighing it against the possible value to the business. Another method uses all the information to rank the significance of different requirements. Management requires a ranking to prioritize how it will allocate resources to meet conflicting needs.
· Management then must determine the resources at its disposal to meet the conflicting requirements and their respective rankings. The first stage is a comprehensive inventory of the company's resources, including its people, money, tools, and supplies. Consideration must also be given to less tangible resources, such as knowledge, experience, and possibilities. Management must inventory all available assets and prioritize them according to the needs matrix.
· Management must first determine the nature of available resources, whether they are finite, reusable, or boundless, before allocating them. The kind of task then determines the help it chooses to give to a job. Two tons of steel, or $50,000, are examples of scarce resources that management may allocate until they are gone. If a piece of machinery or an employee's knowledge can be used more than once, management might assign it to meet more than one demand. Management is free to allocate your years of experience or expertise any way they see fit.
· One of the essential aspects of juggling conflicting wants is deciding how to spend available resources. The firm prioritizes meeting these demands and then uses its resources to do so as efficiently as possible. First, management distributes infinite resources to all areas that need them. While management may allocate these funds to meet all demands, priority requirements must be met first. After deciding which markets will be completed in full, management assigns the remaining resources, working down from the top.
· There is a common misconception that investing time and money into training and development activities is essential. Human resources management should educate managers and executives on effectively mentoring subordinate staff. Online training courses, where the pupil may go at their own pace, are the most effective method for reducing the workload associated with these responsibilities. Human resources departments should invest in their employees so that operational management may benefit from highly skilled and efficient staff. To reduce this threat caused by the need to adapt to new circumstances. Human resource managers should emphasize how everyone can benefit from any changes. The regular meetings that employees have are a great place to start. When the team knows the rationale behind the shifts and the process that will be used to implement them, the business will be more likely to participate. To successfully implement a change in organizational structure, the association must guide its delegates through a process of elimination. The organization has to adopt a specific and proactive approach, bringing together four key developments: out-competing the competition, attracting and retaining employees, implementing the change in stages, and communicating the change ((Royo-León et al., 2018)).
· Managing conflicting needs involves determining which conditions have been met and which will be met next. When it makes sense to attempt to meet more requirements by mobilizing additional restricted resources depends on the timing of renewable resources. It is reasonable to seek the restricted resources needed within that period if a piece of equipment is available in six months to meet the subsequent essential demand. The business may make a rough plan to meet more unmet needs when funding and other resources become available.
