Project Title: Nanotechnology and wastewater treatment
Advisor: Dr. Rana Malhas
Abstract:
Water is the most important need of human life. Water contaminations have a severe effect on environment with a greater effect on economic, to overcome this challenge, scientists invented novel innovative water technologies to ensure a clean water to reduce water
pollution. Nanotechnology is a useful tool in providing solutions to issues related to water treatment, especially the technical challenges related to the removal of contaminants such as pathogens, toxic heavy metals, pesticides, and other persistent and toxic chemicals. The study aims to include modern development technologies (e.g. microfiltration, ultrafiltration and nanofiltration) for wastewater treatment. Advantages and disadvantages in addition to a comparison between conventional and the other technologies should be addressed. Analysis based on experimental data need to be shown for all types. The effect of the wastewater treatment needs to be shown for all the methods and select the best method for the treatment. The treated water then needs to be checked for its feasibility for reuse in irrigation using Kuwait standard limits. The study will be a literature based. In your research you will need to develop the waste water treatment applicable method through a strong literature that supports your research, previous research done, a clear research objective and approach, clear experimental procedures, detailed analysis of your results that supports your findings, and a clear cohesive conclusion and to compare it with the conventional method used in Kuwait, economic study should be included for comparison. Project Type: research
Expected Tasks:
• Wastewater treatment in conventional method
• Wastewater treatment by new technology
• Comparative study among the methods based on experimental analysis
• Finding the best method among the methods used
