Consumer compares the quality of service, speed, reliability, and cost of service to determine the ISP. Local ISPs have yet not disappeared as predicted by experts as customers find it more reliable and they offer lower prices for the same speed.

ISP size does not affect the capacity. A local fiber provider can provide faster connections than national ISPs at a lower cost (Coulter, 2020). National ISP providers maintain a huge team and spend some budget in advertising as well, on the other hand, local ISPs have only a small team. Hence, the price offered by local ISP’s is generally lower as compared to the national ISP (Priteshpawar, 2020).

Local ISP business is mostly by word of mouth. They are good at maintaining customer relationships and providing great customer service as they have fewer customers to manage.

For business, a national ISP may be better if the business is present in various locations. The company can use the same ISP across its sites which may save them some cost. But a local ISP would serve better to homeowners in that location.
