3. Reentry is a huge issues and his been an issue for quite some time now, I feel like by partnering with some non-profit programs. It could better a benefit to those who have serve their time and is looking for a second chance. The best action would be for the workforce investment bored around the country to partner with the Criminal Justice department. The idea would be for the workforce investment bored to find solutions to put ex-inmates/ felonies back to work with meaningful jobs. It is an appropriate to address this problem because right now our reentry systems are not effective at all.
In a study done by (Schanzenbach, Nunn, Bauer, Breitwieser, Mumford, and Nantz 2016) in their most recent study stated that 77 percent of state prisoners who were released in 2005 had been arrested again by 2010” in my opinion I think it’s time for the federal government to get more involved. The group researcher found out also that “Recidivism is ighest immediately after release 43 percent of released prisoners are rearrested during the first year. Also with this new drug epidemic you are having all kind of people lose their careers which they will be released one day and need to find work. So this problem can’t be just address by on or the other because it is to many variables at play.
