There may be many factors that society would benefit from with physician assisting in end of life. It has become real that society is losing it population based on suicides. The rate of suicides commit in a year keep rising all the time. This has increased the mortality rate and decline the population. It is easy to commit suicide than to have someone assist or commit an act as euthanasia. Therefore, if physicians assist patient with their consent to end their life, the rate of suicides will reduce. Any time there is an unknown death in a society, it raised problems in the society. These problems include, identification of the deceased, the causes of the death, investigation, mortuary cost. All these become the burden to the society. However, physicians assisting patient with such a decision will eliminate all these problems.
A guided suicide or euthanasia will help patients without living will. At the time of assisting, if the patient has not made any living will, it will be the time for the patient to make one. Patients will get a proper burial because their families would easily identify their bodies. There may be some dangers associated with this action. But the assisted physician must let the patient record either voice or video consent before proceeding. Failure to do so might end up as murder.

Oregon currently has physician assisted suicide in place. this is typically used for those who are critically ill and have less than 6 months to live. From a patients perspective, it helps to end the pain but from where I stand I don't feel that this should be in place because, no physician or any person should have the right to end anyones life. Some of the dangers that could possible take place could be that patients will no longer want to fight to survive.

If physician
assisted,
suicide was legalized in all states this would allow patients who are ill and
suffering to die
sooner and not have to tolerate the suffering of their pain. This would bring up an issue
with loved ones because of the fact that physicians are helping to "kill" their family member. The
patient would feel as though they were dying with dignity.
