Unmanned Aircraft Systems UAS are used for many beneficial tasks such as search and rescue, monitoring critical infrastructure, and even helping to secure our border.  There are also many ways that UAS can be used for malicious purposes.  These can be unauthorized surveillance, smuggling goods, drugs, or even weapons, harassment or interference with other aircraft, corporate espionage, or even cyber crimes.  Some of the challenges that UAS present are that they can easily enter restricted spaces, such as fenced-off areas and open stadiums.  They are also very difficult to detect, because of their small size and virtually silent flight.
