Being an undergraduate, in large part, has to do with finding yourself as well as being acclimated into a new learning environment. It starts out slowly, as one explores various general requirements, and eventually a student claims a major (if not already doing so) and continues on the course of a specific area of study. Being a graduate student, I believe, has an element of finding yourself, however not in the same way. It is more about going in depth in the learning process and being able to apply it in a more effective way. The text refers to this as the student transitioning into the scholar. As graduate students, we will be scholars, taking the knowledge and applying it to our current careers or to new ones in a way that can make a difference in society.

In the graduate learning community, I believe it is more about the team (especially in an online learning environment). It is through working together and responding to one another that we will collectively learn the most. It isn’t so much of an “every man for himself” environment, but rather, “what can I do to help.”

The key components of a graduate learning community is being effective communicators. It is essential that we are able to take the time to respond to one another and really be thoughtful in our responses to better understand material, but to also challenge one another to bring upon new thoughts and ideas. In my experience in undergraduate, it was about getting the work done the quickest, and easiest while getting the best grade. Being able to work together effectively will bring about the most success in this type of learning forum.

I think my graduate educational experience will be different from my undergraduate experience because from my undergraduate I was taught the basic, the who, the what, the how. Learning the steps to get to the problem to find the solution more and a group setting. Larger class setting and less on my own, As fare as my graduate educational experience

I think it will be more in depth like undergraduate but learning how to analyze the discussion, the problem and focuses on the findings of the topic.

I would describe the graduate learning community as more hands on, more on your own. Going deep into finding the solutions to problem solving, understanding the knowledge which was taught prior. Leadership, independent learning and sharing more common academic goals with their peers. The key components for graduate is knowledgeable, independent studies, self-sufficient, study group on the same level of educational goals and study groups meetings to elaborate on future studies. As fare as undergraduate key components was larger class setting, less to self and more of a group setting for more elaboration. Also discovering, researching and enhancing my learning experience.

I would think both degrees will function off of collaboration with high expectation from each other thoughts and oppions. collaboration would be a great form of communication from each sides for a better understanding for achieving their goals and being successful.

EXAMPLE: We have a lesson to be done and it may be difficult to understand from my part, but as for my peers he or she my understand it better than me. Collaborating with each other, comparing notes and understand both perspective  will give a better answer to solving the problem.

The most basic and fundamental difference between my experiences as an undergraduate student and the pursuit of graduate education now would be the great experiences acquired over time in time management. This new experience must mean that my time must be much more judiciously expended on the vital tasks.

Graduate learning environment  must encapsulate mature approach to discourse, well reasoned and analytical discussions and responses. This means that summations must be thorough and complete.

The basic components of the graduate program would be in the areas of more tacit efforts to fully utilize the skills and knowhow to execute tasks without embellishments or exaggeration, critical thinking ability must be displayed and communication must be pungent and vital as a strong component of the graduate education. It is important to place major emphasis on communication and collaboration here in the graduate program because they are the main tools for academic excellence.

They are necessary for successful team works and assignments.Communication especially must be smooth, legible, uninhibited and direct in order to facilitate greater and clearer understanding of issues and it would also engender cooperation among team  members and faculty.
