I think nonprofits exist to be able to give back to the community and it provides an avenue for people to give donations knowing their money is going to those in need due to noninurement, “a provision that states no part of the organization’s net earnings might inure to the benefit of any member” (Karl, 2015). I believe public administration exists to produce goods and services designed to serve the needs of citizens. “They prepare budgets for a city government, classify jobs in a post office, have potholes patched and mail delivered, or evaluate the performance of a city’s drug treatment centers, while at the same time, they are also concerned with the major goals of society and with the development of resources for achieving those goals within the context of a rapidly changing political environment” (Stillman, 2009). Administration between these two sectors differentiate in that public administrators act more like businesses, earning and working off their profit while non-profit organizations can similarly operate, but cannot reap the benefits of the organization’s net earnings. Non-profit organizations are established based on articles of incorporation/charter with identified name, address, objectives, and the like. They possess a tax-exempt status based on the internal revenue code of 501(c)(3) fulfilling certain purposes such as religious or charitable objectives. Whereas, public organizations have a purpose of generating profit. Based on my personality and skillset, I think I am best suited for working in a non-profit organization because I would rather get a salary that is based on reasonable compensation for my dues and turn around to apply all the net earnings to expand the organization and provide further out reach in the community.

2. In my opinion non-profits exist because they are not taxed on excess revenue. They deliver services to the community on the other hand, for-profit companies will not provide because often there is no way to make a profit on the type of services the non-profit provides. Public administration exists because you need someone that can plan, coordinate, advisory value, efficiency and sustainability, viability and uphold the mission on the agency. In most non-profits administrators have to answer to a board of trustees you also have other employees that are administrators that focus there time if grant writing along with other very impartment task. Most for-profit places are just what said they are for profit, denoting an organization that operates to make a profit, especially one such as a hospital or school that would more typically be nonprofit. (Cheney, 2017) talks how nonprofit and for-profit hospitals are fundamentally similar; there are significant cultural and operational differences, such as strategic approaches to scale and operational discipline. The most obvious difference between nonprofit and for-profit hospitals is tax status. I feel like my personal skillset is best for a non-profit because I like places they are about uphold there mission statement. In non-profit organization they look for the most passionate people to hold those positions and it show. Most For-profit lacks compassion for most part; people in those spaces are about a profit and who can make the most they don’t come to work happen or anything they are just there to get a check and leave. I am a very passionate personal that cares about the work I do, and I like to have other people around that believes in the mission statement of the agency or company.

3.
Nonprofits exist for a variety of reasons. Nonprofits are organizations that can help to do charitable acts like give back to the community through things like food banks, soup kitchens, coat closets for homeless, and many more similar things. A key factor is that “nonprofits raise money but they spend it to further their mission, not to benefit the donors or founders” (Sherman, 2018, para. 1). They use the money donated to them to fulfil their purpose, not to make money for themselves or for their donors. Public administration exists because there are a lot of public needs and there has to be organizations that facilitate solutions for those needs. Private sector companies rely on the money of their consumers to be able to survive. Public organizations receive government grants to pay for their activities. While the money comes from tax dollars, it is also funding things the public needs. There are several differences in public and nonprofit organizations. The first main difference is that in a public organization, they focus on and can use their profits to move the company forward. They can charge for their services. Nonprofit organizations use their earnings to continue to put back into their mission. The services of a nonprofit are free of charge. I feel I would fit in better with the nonprofit sector because I feel a calling for helping those who are in need and may not have the means to pay for the help they need.
