Imagine yourself as a supervisor or advancing your career.  Imagine what you believe represents good, effective supervision.  Create a list of questions with which to interview a supervisor.   Select a supervisor - OTHER THAN YOUR IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR -  as an interview subject who has experience as a supervisor in the human services or a related field. During your interview, learn about his or her experiences as a supervisor, the preparation he or she received for the role, continued professional development, examples of instances or supervisees they found difficult and those they found rewarding, and the advice they would offer you for becoming an effective supervisor. What style of supervision do they practice?   What and how do they track staff performance?   Let them know you will be sharing your observations in a paper and in class discussion, but that their name and setting will not be revealed.

Based on your interview, , and review of at least three (3) outside readings, prepare a brief (6-8 pages) paper on your observations. In it, convey what you learned from your interview and analyze what you learned in light of our course material and your research. What might you conclude about the characteristics of effective supervisors and successful supervisees? What have you learned about the ethical dilemmas in supervision and the strategies to address them?

You are to reference the outside readings (APA format).  You are also to submit the questions you prepared for the interview (separate pages not included in paper
