Mission/ Purpose

To open a business that will generate a profitable revenue and transforming the store into a place where customers and employees can call a second home while enjoying a delicious cup of coffee.

Project

Description and Project Product

This project of mine will create a new place for customers to relax, use their personal electronics, and socialize while having a light lunch, a pastry, or just a cup of coffee. I would need to hire a project manager to help organize and accomplish each task needed for the project.

· Level the commercial property given to me by my father.

· Build out and renovated shop with a “second home” like atmosphere.

· Equipment purchased such as the coffee and expresso grinder, brewer, fridge, pots, and ovens.

· Furniture- tables, chairs, counters, cabinets, shelving, etc.

· Menu boards and signage for the coffee shop.

· Obtaining the proper licenses and inspections.

· Securing vendors for initial and future supplies.

· Training and hiring baristas for the store.

Objectives

· Increase profits by meeting the needs of customers of a place to purchase coffee, lunch, or pastries.

· Increase customer satisfaction by providing the customers a relaxing place to hang out and socialize.

· Increase the competitiveness of the store by offering a friendly atmosphere, amazing customer service, and good quality food and beverages.

Business Need

It isn’t common to find a coffee shop that can provide a warm, homely atmosphere, let alone in the Zion, IL area. By being the only coffee shop in this area, it will not only generate revenue but customers will have a great place to come to. As a small first time business owner, the satisfaction that would come from fulfilling the needs of a neighborhood and providing good quality products to customers it will generate a profit.

A cup of coffee generally runs $3.50 a cup and with about 230 cups of coffee sold each day, the business will generate about $293,865.00 in coffee revenue alone. In the years to follow, the business can eventually grow to the point of expansion into a second location.
