Summary:

Autism refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication. In layman’s terms autism is known has someone who does not function the same as we do. However, I will be discussing how autism isn’t necessarily different, but how it African American families handle a child with autism, is autism different for African Americans, and how does the African American community see autism within our racial construct. In depth analysis will go into how autism changes ones lifestyle.
