Topic - Using Yelp for Business Reviews

Purpose - This is an opportunity to explore the Competitive Environment of business, as discussed on page 16 of our book. Competition is a huge factor regarding the success or decline of businesses.

Instructions - Review the Service Sectors that were discussed in your book on page 21 (I attached the book’s page down below, in case if you need more information).

Choose one of these sectors (Personal Services for example) and explore five businesses on Yelp that are in this sector (for example if I choose Personal Services, I then may choose Health Clubs and compare five of them to see what the reviews on Yelp say). You can complete your assignment in two ways: 1) you can complete it in a Word document and upload it using the Submit Assignment button, or 2) you can type your text into the textbox provided in your assignment area.

Points - This assignment is worth 20 points. 10 points for the quality and length (your assignment should be at least 10 sentences in length and include substantive information), and 10 points for grammar, spelling and punctuation. (Instructor note: I do use a feature called Turnitin that reviews your assignments for plagiarism, so I encourage you to formulate content you find on the Internet into your own words to avoid missed points for copying and pasting directly from online sources.)
