PART 1
1- psychological disorder: Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder -OCD
2- the media: The Aviator.
3- I have chosen this specific disorder because it is interesting to see how this disease can bring such limitations to people who have great ability and intelligence. The movie, The Aviator features a man who was considered to be a genius. But he had Obsessive Compulsive Disorder which is a mental disorder that makes a person have a frequent intrusive thoughts and compulsive actions. This disorder has many symptoms that appears on the patient who suffers from it but two specific ones that were shown in the movie are maladaptive behavior of frequently washing hands and maladaptive compulsion of frequently repeating words or phrases. The film describes the difficulty of having this disorder and also educated audience about it. I picked this film for my paper because it is the best fit for my subject, and I am excited to start writing and searching more about it.
