Before writing your sonnet, you will want to view several times the Lesson Presentation in this Unit 10 that explains clearly how to write an English sonnet. This assignment will be due in Unit 11.
Pay particular attention to rhyme and meter for this type of poem. Also, consider imagery and figures of speech. Stretch your creative-writing muscles, and have fun! #bethebard
Submissions:
Responses will be submitted by attaching a MS Word .docx file (feel free to use whatever font size and style you deem appropriate for your poem). Use the title of the painting for the title of your poem, so I know what painting you selected. Also include a link to the painting in your submission.
Be sure to write your sonnet in correct stanza format for an English sonnet: 3 quatrains of 4 lines each and a couplet at the end. Use iambic pentameter for each line. Put a blank line between stanzas.
