DNR
DNR is an order written by a doctor that provides instructions to the health care team to not perform CPR if the patient were to stop breathing. The topic of DNR remains a problem because many critical ill patients do not get the option to choose. Most of the time patients do not want to be resuscitated and that patient is brought back against their will. This is an interesting topic because in many occasion the choice is not given to the patient and therefor it leads to an unpleasant care for the patient. The patients suffering from a chronic illness who want a natural death are the brought back by CPR or electric shock. One could counter his argument by stating that the patient could receive other form of treatment that could improve their health rather than sign a DNR order.
