DNP7100 – Evaluation of Evidence for Practice

The purpose of this paper is to explore the DNP journey and its impact to the profession while helping the student acclimatizing in the role of the Doctor of Nursing Practice Student. Furthermore, this assignment seeks to guide the student in the inquiring on their future role as DNP-graduate nurse and help prepare them for the journey and establish relationship with potential preceptor candidate.

This paper is a three-step process:

1) Reading the suggested articles to understand the DNP entrance to the program milestone and answer the students’ questions segment.

2) Interview a DNP-prepared nurse.

3) Complete a reflection and comparison of the student’s initial thoughts with the knowledge gained from the interview and share the experience in an open forum with classmates.

DUE DATE

Submit your completed assignment in Moodle by Saturday 11:59 p.m. E.T. of Week 3 as directed.

1. Use the provided template to answer the Exploring the DNP Journey Assignment.

2. The Inquiry Paper is worth 100 points.

3. The length of the paper will be about between 5-7 pages including title page and reference pages.

4. APA format and effective writing is required for the paper. Use your APA manual to check and correct your formatting.

STEPS

The following are best practices for preparing this paper:

1. Read the proposed articles. // Answer the student section I

2. Answer the DNP-graduate questionnaire with any DNP-prepared nurse of your choice. Please keep in mind this person may or may not be your DNP preceptor in subsequent class.

3. Answer the post interview and prepare to exchange on your findings with your DNP mentor.

4. Summarize the main ideas and learnings from the experience in your conclusion.
