Take a look at the Proceed part of the model. That is the part that deals with program evaluation.

After looking at the CDC manual and the PRECEDE/PROCEED Model, please discuss what you see as main commonalities in the two frameworks. You must discuss at least three common points, ad three points of divergence for credit. You must also cite additional research in your posts. Here is the guide:

· Post 1: Three commonalities between the framework and the model.

· Post 2: Three points of divergence between the framework and the model.

· Post 3-5: Comment meaningfully on the posts of three peers; bonus points for using citations in your response.

I need you to reply to these comments

Three points of divergence:

The first difference between the model and the manual is that the manual has a focus on cost-effectiveness whereas the PRECEDE/PROCEED model does not specifically address that portion.

The second difference is that the manual is much more complicated than the model. The model is a little more broad and has a direction to follow, while the manual is more specific and has much more that goes into it.

The third difference between the two is the manual is pictured as a continuum with the standards in the middle of it, while the model has a direction that starts at quality of life, works backward, and then back to quality of life for the evaluation. It could be argued that this makes them similar because they start and end in the same place, but the difference in them is how they are modeled and explained.

Three commonalities:

-  The first commonality between the CDC manual and the PRECEDE/PROCEED model is the end and the manual and model determine if the program achieved its target successfully. This is done through their evaluation with phases 1 to 4 of the Precede/Proceed model by including social, epidemiological, ecological, educational, administrative and policy assessment. The CDC's and U.S Department of Health and Human Services, discuss bringing together credible evidence to focus on similarities of evaluation process of details included on certain parts of the program, evaluating separate areas of the program rather than as a whole.

- The second commonality between the CDC manual and the PRECEDE/PROCEED model is that they both focus on the positive and negative effects of the program and the different focus areas between the manual and model.

- The third commonality both the CDC manual and the PRECEDE/PROCEED model can contain information from more than one resource.

Three Commonalities:

· Both the PRECEDE/PROCEED Model and the CDC Evaluation Manual focus on implementation of the program and if the implementation occurred how it was supposed to.

· The last phase of PRECEDE/PROCEED and the last step of the CDC Evaluation Manual focus on the outcome of the evaluation and what lessons were learned from conducting an evaluation on the specific program.

· Both the CDC Manual and PRECEDE/PROCEED welcome stakeholders and are community-based.
