In this assignment, you will write a legislative testimony.

Your state legislative committee on health and human services is holding a hearing on disaster preparedness for the state. It has requested you to appear before the committee as a healthcare leader and advise the committee on the state of disaster preparedness in your region of the state.

Write a one-page position paper that covers the following:

· Talk about a type of natural disaster or human-made disaster that your region may be prone to (e.g. if you live in California, wildfires may be an important topic, and if you live in Florida, hurricane preparedness.)

· Find out what your region of your state is doing already for disaster preparedness and what is not being done. Review your prior readings on this area for guidance.

· State your opinion on what the legislative committee should do. Justify your position carefully and succinctly.

Your testimony should not take longer than five minutes to read, as this is the typical amount of time an advocate has to testify. It should be no longer than one page.

Share your references in APA format at the end of the testimony.

Compose your work in a .doc or .docx file type using a word processor (such as Microsoft Word, etc.) and save it frequently to your computer. For those assignments that are not written essays and require uploading images or PowerPoint slides, please follow uploading guidelines provided by your instructor.

Check your work and correct any spelling or grammatical errors.
