Abstract
The extraordinary inventions in information and communication technology space have transformed and continue to transformation in the way businesses conduct their operations. Today, both small and medium-sized businesses compete with large businesses. This has been made possible by a wide range of information technological inventions from computers to portable devices to increase competitive advantage in the global market. Modern information and communication technology have played a role in the management of trans-national Corporation in an environment characterized with cultural diversity (Gereffi, 1999). However, despite such advantages, a significant number of businesses have not fully implemented modern information technology into their planning process to enable them to compete in the global market. The slow adoption of modern information technology in small businesses has been contributed to the limited knowledge of the impact of information on the development of global businesses. There is a general lack of information to inform businesses who opts to adopting recent technologies.
Although several studies have documented the impact of information technology on global economy, little have been researched on the impact of information technology on global businesses. Few studies that have attempted to examine this topic have ended up with mixed and contradictory results. Therefore, there is need to conduct a study that seeks to clarify unclear issues and motivating businesses to adapt technology.
This proposed paper will therefore examine the impact of technology on global businesses. The finding of the paper is expected to inform businesses accordingly.
