Incorporate Faculty Feedback into Prospectus

Feedback to follow:

· There must be a focus on the healthcare administration focus.  This means much more attention to the healthcare administration and leadership literature.  Right now your focus is really a public health issue through patient experience lens and this will not suffice for your dissertation. Remember your dissertation must address a gap in knowledge and practice for healthcare administrators and leaders. So you need to revise your problem statement to fit that requirements and reframe your project questions (research questions)

· What it the role of healthcare administrators to address the perpetual issue of disparities in access to care?  The American Hospital Association collects data on this from health systems and there is a wealth of literature on this topic in the leadership and administration journals.

· The phenomenological method makes sense for your applied project but you will not be doing your own surveys .  This is essential to revise to clearly discuss an approach that will use only secondary data. That means you will need to use surveys or other data sources that have already been collected by others.

· Make sure to visit with a librarian as soon as you can to start filling in the gaps in your literature review to reframe the focus of your approach to your topic.  It will contribute to the field by giving leaders guidance on how they can positively impact the problem of disparities that still persist.  What is the role for leaders to make the necessary changes?
