Title: Information Technology in the Global Economy

Technology has made major advancements over the last decades and it has had major impacts on peoples’ lives in almost all sectors. The impact of information technology on the global market has redefined the concept of the world economies. Information technology may be dated back to the industrial revolution which may be described as the beginning of the technological era. Information technology has been very popular in the financial markets and it is finding its way into services and goods market also. Cooperation among firms has been made easier due to the invention of information and communication devices like computers and phones which use various networks to access the internet which in turn enable interactions among people from all walks of life. Aspects like research and development, production, and servicing have been made easier due to the improvements in technology and this has led to the growth of global markets. It is now possible for small and large firms to partner in business deals due to the information technology. Research and development among the various firms encourages healthy competition in the process, advanced developments are made so as to improve the existing technologies. Marketing and production agreements help a business in learning how a more successful business is able to manoeuvre through the current competitive markets. Operating at global level may be challenging to some companies but many of them have embraced the idea of globalization which has helped them increase their target markets and the quality of products and services so as to attract more consumers and also maintain the existing ones. However, due to the changes brought about by globalization, vital management styles and policies have been implemented to deal with this trend and they include; infrastructure, investments, and intellectual property to mention but a few (Elochukwu, 2013, p. 606).
