You make the choice. We need two description paragraphs for one movie and one description paragraph for the other.

Choose that moment which will yield at least SEVEN descriptive details--at least seven sentences, each of which is dynamically descriptive.

Before you start a thread, be sure to review my notes for Taymor and Miyazaki. In CONTENT find the module with this title: Taymor's Tempest and Miyazaki's Kiki: Moments for Description. Here are possible moments for consideration. Choose two describable moments for one of the movies, and one moment for the other.

You will need TWO description paragraphs for one of the movies, and one description paragraph for the other. 

Here is how you make you choice: what moment will give you at least SEVEN describable aspects--at least SEVEN details? Each would have its own sentence (or more) in the description. 

Here is the model for description paragraph: 

Topic idea: Modern people are like Prospera and Kiki. The are looking for their place in this world. Modern people have GIFTS--sometimes extraordinary gifts--but they do not know what to do with their gifts. Sometimes they are not even sure what their gifts might be. The clue to discovering and using our gifts is to remember something about that word "gifts." Our talents are FOR someone! They are not for ourselves. When we try to make our gifts about ourselves--our own mastery and liberty--something always goes wrong. GIVE THE TOPIC IDEA A COUPLE OF SENTENCES.

DESCRIPTION: I am looking for seven to 12 sentences--certainly we do NOT need more than that. If you find you are well over a dozen sentences, cut those sentences which (upon examination) may be too much like explanation or summary.

INSIGHT: Use "we" language and refine your topic idea. Keep it "we" and universal. For instance, we sometimes despair of our failures and problems. Kiki does not realize it but her erratic flying may not be all bad. In fact, she has a SUPER POWER (we all have a super power): she is a PLUNGE ARTIST. Notice how well she PLUNGES towards the cattle car during the storm. Notice how she PLUNGES and stops the golden birdcage from being lost. This may seem like the most unlikely talent, but that's just it--our GIFTS are in search of whom they must serve. We never know until they find their person (or people).

QUOTE: The quote is the last thing. If it's Shakespeare, you can CHANGE the gender! That's right. Where the name is Prospero, you can say "Prospera." You can change the male pronoun to "she" or "her." Otherwise our ARDEN is still our script for THE TEMPEST.
