My NOTES:
Disney inc. international
Disney is a famous brand known by millions of people with their most famous mascot being Mickey Mouse, a bipedal cartoon mouse that has been on TV. Since before we had color television and yet a five-year-old kid today can recognize and point him out. The reasons for this are their products that come in many different forms such as TV. Shows, movies, amusement parks, and much more. Disney main competition is other family friendly companies with similar ideas such as Nickelodeon which also has many forms of entertainment such as shows, movies, and amusement parks.
I believe they should further their international expansion. Disney has the upper hand on this because of their purchase of other companies such as Star Wars which has a better appeal to an adult audience and has influence from other countries like Germany. A famous character that has been bought by Disney in recent years gives it a chance to further increase their audience. They have also increased the diversity of their character in the creation of Moana, Meredith, and Ariel, which all come from outside of the company’s home country. I believe if they did decide to do an international expansion right now their goal would to make an original character in the countries they choose to market in like making an Italian character for Italy and getting enough popularity to be a household name so they can have specific marketing for individual countries.
