Many schemes have evolved over the years to speed up the I/O to the operating system, such as buffering, scheduling, RAID and caching. Comment substantially on at least one of these topics and speculate on how you see that topic evolving in the future. Support your speculation with some evidence you found at a vendor site, or in a professional reference, or in an academic report of some kind.
