Two discussions

Topic #1

This week we are looking more specifically at how big data is used in accounting.   Using  the library or other authoritative sources, research and discuss how accounting related agencies like the IRS, SEC, FASB, etc. are using big data and data analytics.  Be sure to provide specific examples to support your ideas.   Also discuss if you think there should be other applications of data analytics associated with the agency you selected. 

Topic #2

The amount of data companies can obtain and store about customers has grow substantially over time.  Based on your readings and peer reviewed articles in the library, what controls do you think should be put in place related to customer data storage and use?  Should different types of organizations be required to implement stronger controls or should all organizations have the same set of controls for data storage?
