Federal law enforcement assumes jurisdiction over high-profile violent crimes, hate crimes, and human trafficking, among others. The reasoning is that federal agencies such as the FBI have more resources, experience, and contextual awareness than state or local agencies, thus leading to swifter justice for victims and safety for the public. In other words, it’s the right thing to do for particularly sensitive crimes. What do you think?
