I would be recommending a cloud-based system for the clinic. My reasoning for recommending a cloud-based system is to relive the two nurses on staff of some of their duties allowing for more functional office. Cloud -based would also allow the office to focus more on patient care and less on maintaining the EHR because it is the vendors responsibility. Cloud-based also makes it possible for the doctor to use a tablet and be able to login remotely and access files anywhere through-out the office and even off site.

 

The hardware the chiropractic practice will need to have in order to implement and use the solution are computers that are able to have internet access stationary or laptops for front office;  and a laptop or tablet for the chiropractor to be able to access files in the patient suite or in there office . Telecommunications needed for the solution would be internet access hard wired and Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi connection would be a must for any of the laptops and tablets to work remotely and access the EHR system.  For the system to work efficiently without lag time a broadband speed of the internet connectivity should be around

2-4 Mbps this is the recommendation for a practice with 2-4 physicians. Midtown family clinic only has one physician as of right now, but with plans on expansion it would be wise to already that in place.
