In my opinion, all of the entrepreneurs listed in the book American Made are very important and has changed the daily lives of many people around the world.  Individuals such as Henry Ford streamlined the automobile's processing and made the Model T affordable for the common individual while Andrew Carnegie expanded the steel industry and the infrastructure such as railroads and bridges.  I believe that the most important and significant inventor for the American Culture and economy was Thomas Edison because he invented  the light bulb, electric distribution, motion pictures and several electronic devices such as the phonograph.    I believe that Edison's most important invention and one that changed the lifestyle of the personal and the business world is both his invention of the light bulb and distribution of electricity.  Before this invention, businesses shut down early because there was not enough light to work after dark and production had to cease, therefore limiting productivity.  Since the light bulb became popular, there was significant business growth and expansion which grew to dynamic proportions because this helped companies become more productive and make larger profits.  Because of this uptick in production, more people were able to find work and make a living.  Also, Edison was instrumental in the electronic power distribution so electricity can be used in the household, so families can perform housework and enjoy entertainment inside the home.

With these inventions, Edison created a power to the industry in both the industrial and entertainment industries propelling American life to the next level.  Music and movie industries began to enjoy recording their acts and various types of music for the enjoyment of the public through Edison's creation of the phonograph and motion pictures. As a result, these inventions became the staple of American entertainment today and generate billions every year with significant profits from America's desire for entertainment.  On the industry side, the light bulb and electricity distribution allows companies from around the world to operate all hours of the day and night to generate massive revenue and expand around the world employing millions of individuals making the lifestyle more comfortable and convenient.
