A computer is a data processor. It performs different functions which include substantial computations such as arithmetic and logical operations with or without the intervention of a human operator while running the operations. It is interesting how the data is entered into the computers in a coded form, how the information is fed into the computers and the processing of the data takes place hence producing the desired results in terms of reports and documents. The results are referred to as the output. There are parts of the computer that serve the purpose of input (that is entering commands into the computers), and there are other parts that serve the purpose of the output.

With the computers, I have typed a letter to my pals and emailed it to them as a soft copy. I have also printed the letter and kept it as a hard copy and stored it as part of my cherished items. Moreover, I have also learned the basic features of a computer. I have learned about the computer processor, which is the main component of a computer. It is described as the heart and brain of the network. However, I have had a hard time differentiating between a Random Access Memory RAM and ROM. The purpose of ROM and RAM is still unclear to me, although I have prior knowledge that one among the two is used for short term memory.

I have high expectations to learn about computers and their functioning. I have noticed that some computers receive commands faster than others. I would like to know the differences and the causes of differences that I have noticed. I would also like to know if there are some computers specified to perform specific tasks.
