In your own words define mitigation and summarize mitigation techniques employed to reduce or minimize risks imposed by foreseeable and unforeseeable disasters.

Identify a natural or technological hazard that significantly impacted you, a family member, a business, or in the workplace and discuss the following:

· How the hazard was identified and what emergency planning and preparedness measures were employed to manage the risk.

· If discussing a business, what types of risks are associated to the business and discuss business continuity and voluntary disaster preparedness programs for businesses.

· Importance of emergency planning and preparedness education and training programs for community members, businesses, and other community stakeholders.

· Identify personal, community, and government actors involved in emergency response efforts.

· Mitigation planning to minimize or reduce future threats.
