Your world view is a compilation of your beliefs about how life, culture and society are organized. Your world view includes your assumptions about how the world is organized, your values, and perhaps mostly importantly, how you see yourself in the world in relationship to others. Your world view is like a pair of glasses through which you see the world.

I'd like you in this cultural discussion to write at least three paragraphs about how your world view has changed since the start of this class because of what you have read, viewed, or talked about with others or with those in your group. What new awareness do you have? What knowledge/skills are you proudest of?

I'd also like you to write about your understanding of "the other" -- those people, or cultures, which previous to this class were outside of your conscious awareness. What's different now for you? And how might this new awareness shape how you participate in the world in the future? How might this new awareness help you in your second paper?

Hello everyone,

my world view about culture belief, Societies values and norms are totally changed after taking this. I was talkative, judgmental , and other stereotypes. I would like to thank my classmate, and my teacher who gave me a opportunity to be a part of this beautiful class. After taking this class, I learned so many things. what was most important thing that I learned from this class is respect others culture and try to understand them. Not to be judgmental about others, putting bias in side will help us to understand the cultural diversity. in the book " Spirits Catches You and You Fall down," by Anne Fadiman shaped me from different aspects about our life. This book taught me that try to understand other's culture and respect their belief. other session that I learned from this book is don't miss use your power. The most important lesson that I learned is cultural understanding . When we had a seminar in class, we had a chance to each others culture, which help me to widen my knowledge about others culture. After our conversion with classmates, I found most of my classmates are going to in healthcare field, so it is very important to us to know about cultural diversity. I also learned that family is more important when you are sick. now, I am more aware about culture and spiritual belief so, I will be able understand people. I can provide them better care as I am going to healthcare field.

the skill that I most proud of is active listener. I learned that be an active listener is very helpful in healthcare field as well as other field. As I am going to healthcare field, I can understand my clients feelings., I can listen their problems, so I can better assist them with quality of service. believe it or not I was very talkative, whenever we had conversations with my friends, I always add my point view. I never listen to them. instead of listening them, I add my views. I fell so bad now that I was really irritating them in past. one of friend even notice that I changed my talkative habit. I am so happy. other important lesson that I learned is not be judgmental about other's dress, and culture. my understanding about others culture has been changed. I learned that in this country people are from all around the world, so we have to respect them and their culture.

This awareness will help me to be a very good nurse as well as good human being. This awareness will sharpen and widen my mind about cultural beliefs, norms, and values. As I am going to be nurse in future, this awarenesses will help me to understand my clients feelings, understand their problems, and help me to listen them, so I can better assist them with quality of service. the understanding the term power, privilege, and differences will going to help me in future that I can help my client as equally as it should be. this awarenesses will help me to write my second paper by being able to identify who has more or less privilege then I have. being able to understand the differences between others values and norms than mine. most important is I want to know is white privileged is all around the world or only in western countries and America. incase of my country, white privilege is nothing. in my second paper, I am going to choose someone who is different than me in culture, and privilege, so I can find the differences between us. I am so excited about my second interview.
