DISCUSSION 1

We can see that in the current market technology is trending to a larger extent and this has increased the use of the internet across the world. With the help of the internet, individuals are making various searches based on their interests and requirements and by this, they can get a certain update over the same. We can observe that there are various kinds of social platforms in the market and many of them are accessible by way of application. These applications are accessible by way of different kinds of system operating which are being provided by the two large organizations like Apple and Google. While making use of these applications the individuals need to provide their basic information like email id, contact, and certainly more by which the organizations can help them with better services. And the organization should ensure the security of their customer's data which is highly critical and sensitive. They should ensure that their customer's data is not being misused and they will not have any kind of losses in the future (Budzinski et al, 2020). There are certain organizations like Instagram, Facebook, Google, and many more monitor the data of their customers and personal communications, and their interests which can help those organizations in giving the best services to their customers. Organizations must ensure that their user's data is well protected and secured otherwise they may lose the trust of their customers. By safeguarding their data the organizations will be able to ensure that their data is not being utilized for unethical purposes (Kumar et al, 2018).

DISCUSSION 2

Increase in new technologies and interaction possibilities for information sharing, information security is considered as major risk for organizations. Information security is used to protect information from unauthorized access, disruption by providing secure and reliable access to information (Riitta Hekkala, 2012).

Challenges for protecting customer information.

Ø  Understanding attackers’ motivations, targets and tactics.

Ø  Understanding information security is considered as fluid and continuous moving target.

Ø  Deciding on what type of information to be released on how and when.

Ø  Undermining Information Security budget.

Ø  Organizations need to identify right tools and methods to improve automated incident detection.

Ø  Identifying and responding to stake holders (MARK-DAVID MCLAUGHLIN, 2018).

Information security concerns and user’s response

Protecting personal and privacy information is getting more critical from last two decades. There are some underlying differences between Information Security and Privacy. Users are concerned to provide their information and details due to lack of privacy and trust. Organizations must be aware of different risks and violation methods like malware variants, worms, DDoS attacks, stolen passwords and to protect their information they must deploy countermeasures like prevention, detection and recovery (Charlie C. Chen, 2016).

Strict Information Security with constantly changing requirements increases stress on employees and users. This requires users to constantly spend time to understand, learning and implementing updated information security, sometimes this complexity extends the overreach of user’s abilities to understand the importance of security requirements. This type of scenarios can lead to problems of understanding and misunderstandings (Haag, 2016).
