This discussion board is broken into groups, so there will be slightly fewer posts for you to read through. Think about an argument and the various positions on that argument. One example would be the two articles below:

· "Banning Plastic Bags is Great for the World, Right? Not so Fast" Links to an external site.

· Source: Adler, Ben. "Banning Plastic Bags is Great for the World, Right? Not so Fast."  Wired, 10 June 2016, www.wired.com/2016/06/banning-plastic-bags-great-world-right-not-fast/.

· Adler's article breaks down the idea that we should get rid of plastic bags and use alternatives. But, his question becomes, Are the other alternatives better?

· "Choking the Oceans with Plastic"Links to an external site. 

· Source: Moore, Charles J. "Choking the Oceans with Plastic."  The New York Times, 25 Aug 2014, www.nytimes.com/2014/08/26/opinion/choking-the-oceans-with-plastic.html.

· Moore's article argues that plastics are now one of the most common pollutants of ocean waters worldwide.

Your assignment is to write a summary of one argument. Then write a summary of another position on the same debate. Your initial post will include both summaries (one summary for each position on the debate). Make sure that you don't tell your group which one you endorse. Also, you should be sure that the argument you are addressing is both appropriate for a wide audience and one you are comfortable discussing your position on. This does not need to be a hot-button topic. You can pick debates like clean skincare, impact of recycling, or the best color to paint an office. If you can't think of an argument, try Googling "the best" followed by a topic you are interested in or you can use the two articles on plastics above.
