A manager is responsible for managing the costs of his or her department. There are various types of costs that flow through the department. From the above table, choose two cost classifications ( except Management Control ) and a) and describe the costs in the different categories, b) give examples of what type of expenses these are, and c) how can these costs be managed. 2. Variance Analysis

You are the director of a unit in a hospital and you are responsible for your departmental budget. Variance reports are distributed on a monthly basis and you have a monthly meeting with your VP to explain the variances.
