School Counseling Discussion 5
When developing a school wide core curriculum and small groups, school counselors must consider meeting the needs of all students. Culturally competent counselors ensure that disadvantaged and marginalized students have access to classroom counseling lessons and small groups that foster self-advocacy and empowerment. As a result, it is important that school counselors understand the needs of all their students but also further examine the specific needs of subgroups (disadvantage and marginalized students).
Part 1.
