Chapter 7, Question 2:
Decision making – art or science:
Decision process is an important activity carried in each level of management to achieve the objective. The decision making can be taken in basic of and experience in the same domain for more number of years based on the lots of failures or based the good ideas the decision is taken this way is called art based decision making and science based decision making is a strategy, steps, logic, and rules to reach the desired output. All though the science based decision making that provide all the feasibility and assurance, still the art based decision making is important to think scenarios outside of the box (IllumineTraining, 2015)
Chapter 7, Question 4:
Model:
The word model considered as a noun is represented to a sample small piece of the proposed system, the word model considered as an adjective can describe the system like hatchback car, sedan car, SUV cars and the word model considered as a verb, where the person models the clothes. The models are further classified into physical model, analogue model, schematic model and mathematical models
Chapter 7, Question 7:
Direct experimentation:
It is the process of testing the system directly by the person to check the behavior. This can be continued until the required objective is achieved. This makes more time consumption and more expensive due to more number of try and it may also cause disruption
Indirect experimentation:
It just creates the abstract of the system and how the decision is changed. It has procedure for the system and implementation details, based on the output for analysis and the best output is chosen. It is less expensive and less disruption of the process
Chapter 7, Question 14:
Caution carries to use models
Check the new system model is feasible to satisfy the current model, the model considered will have new features, we need to analyze that all the functionality from that model is feasible to implement with all the effectiveness.
>Prepare the document of understanding which illustrate the overall system
>Create a responsible resource with all the system models knowledge and make as point of context available at any time for the solutions and responsible of system
>All the process and steps must be documented and reviewed for the future purpose
Chapter 7, Question 15:
Modes are value for making decision making:
Models are simulation of the required system, based on the models the decision making can be done in design and operational. The models make very easy to understand the process of the system and adaptation of the system for the environment. (Eagle, n.d.)
> Model provides simplified solution of the complicate system for decision making
>the system engineering in decision making using the models make the less time involved in production of system and less cost for the production
>this model based decision making provides the criteria to check the different kind of effects that the system can react with. So the early risk can be identified and resolved
>Model basically provide the existing system design and functionality to understand the system engineering
>using the mode decision make the engineers or designer to design, prior to the production all the defect and faults can be identified and rectified
Chapter 8, Question 1:
Calculate the principle for the given accumulate amount, number of years and rate of interest in compound interest in annual basis
Accumulated amount A=10,000
Term in year t=8
Rate of interest 6%, 6/100=0.06, r= 0.06
Formula to calculate the compound interest is
A=P (1 + r) t
To check the principle amount need to modify the formula as
P=A / (1 + r) t
P= 10,000/ (1 + 0.06)8
P= 10,000/ (1.06)8
P= 10,000/1.59384807
P=6,274.12373
The principal amount was 6,274.12373 for the given details
Chapter 8, Question 6:
Calculate the rate of interest for principle amount 4,000, accumulate amount 10,000 in 6 years with compound interest
Principle amount P=4,000
Accumulate amount A=10,000
Term in number of years t= 6
Actual formula to calculate the compound interest is
A=P (1 + r) t
P (1 + r) t = A
(1 + r) t = A/P
(1 + r) = (A/P) 1/t
r = (A/P) 1/t – 1
Now we have got the formula to calculate the rate of interest
r = (10,000/4,000) 1/6 – 1
r = (2.5) 1/6 – 1
r = 1.16499305 – 1
r = 0.16499305
Now we have got the rate of interest, multiply with 100 to get the actual interest in percentage
r =0.16499305 X 100
r =16.499305%
r =16.49%
The rate of interest is 16.49 for the given details
System Engineering Vision: (Document page 8 graph)
The graph represents the technologies development, usage started and the duration taken to reach the saturation period. Microwave took 5 year to reach 90%, TV and internet took 10 years to reach 80%, landline phone took 90 years to reach 92%, mobile phone took 5 years to reach 25%, car took 90 years to reach 75%, based on the analysis each technologies and their functionality, aesthetics, operability and overall value determines the duration of the technologies to exist, the system engineering defines the technologies to be introduced with the infusion to environment, system engineering, according to the given graph the automobiles took 90 years to reach 75% in this scenario the system engineering aspect like durability, safety, cost affordability by the customer, functionality are taken be improved after doing certain analysis, and based on the experience and need ( INCOSE, n.d.)
The system engineering and analysis provide the enhanced procedure to create new software development and integration with the functionality, aesthetics, operability and overall value to penetrate in to the market, for the software development must be implemented with life cycle model with step by step approach like Requirement analysis, Program management plan, Software engineering management plan, preliminary design, detail design, development, integration testing, user acceptance testing, system specification testing will make the product more reliable and affordable, withstand for the full life cycle, the whatsapp in mobile device software is an perfect example of best software development and integration product which reach 95% in 5 years (INCOSE, n.d.)
