The social media platform that I would use to establish my personal brand is Facebook. Facebook is one of the largest of the social media platforms, with over 150 million users. Facebook gives you the opportunity to network and compete in a “market friendly” network (Barker, Barker, Bormann, Zahay, & Roberts, 2017). I currently use Facebook daily to generate leads and to interact with potential customers. Most of my business comes from Facebook, so I understand the power of this giant social media platform. I believe that it would be easier to combine Facebook with blogging to develop my online personal brand than any other social media platform.

I would consistently post engaging content and pictures that represents my personal brand and interact with those who engage, which will create an algorithm that will push my content to the top of user's feed. The Facebook algorithm controls the ordering and presentation of posts, so users see what is most relevant to them (Barnhart 2020). It is also important to invest in tools such as content creator apps and a very good camera to give your viewers meticulous and precise content.

Aside from consistency, the biggest challenge with creating a brand online vice in person is making sure your content is captivating, yet easy to comprehend. Often times people “talk how they text” or overshare. Both challenges can hinder the successfulness of your personal brand. I understand it is important to remove slang and text lingo from your vocabulary while creating a personal blog. It is also vital not to overshare, especially your point of view on issues, such as religion or politics. Your readers cannot hear you, so they cannot interpret your intent.

My goal in establishing my personal brand through Facebook is to be consistent in providing material that is accurate and transparent with the content that I share. I will commit to posting and interacting with commenters several times a week and ensuring that the subjects I share will not controversial or offensive.

In the last couple of years, the importance of personal branding has grown immensely and social media networks like Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, and more has given us access to express ourselves individually. Marketing with these networks can help achieve brand awareness and the advantage of " large population segment participating on social networks, such networks have become an excellent way to seek out clients or customers" (Barker, Barker, Bormann, Zahay, & Roberts, 2017). The social network platform that I have decided to use in the development of my personal brand is Twitter. The network is great to start a brand due to millions of users that you can potentially target, creating a great amount of exposure. Having an active Twitter presence “will give you opportunities to interact with people you would never have a chance to talk to otherwise and some of those people might become business contacts” (Ward, 2020). All this can be directed easily to my personal blog by attaching my blog website on my header bio, directing them to my page.

The greatest challenge of doing this through social media rather than in-person would be getting the proper message/brand image that engages and gives value to the network users, making it approachable to them. Experiencing face-to-face can be achievable unlike non-contact through a device. You want to make sure you are still connected with the users. My personal blog leans towards my achievements and experiences in the workforce/personnel, goals, as well as interest. Creating an atmosphere that is transparent like a photo, a background describing myself, and raw blogs or posts that interacts with the users. The goal is to make the audience aware of what I stand for and the expectations, consistency of my posts or blogs in my content.
