"Agility and Business Process Management (BPM)" Please respond to the following:
· Suppose that an organization did not use processes that were designed and built to be agile, particularly when it comes to IS / IT technologies. Predict the impact of environmental changes on an organization financially, socially, and in terms of survivability.
· A BPM model may help manage and streamline IT processes that are otherwise manually executed. Examine one enterprise manual process (i.e., purchase order approval) and propose two BPM models that would replace the process. Determine the IT resources that you would employ to automate the process (i.e., electronic documents instead of paper documents).

RESPOND TO A STUDENT POST (PICK 1):
1. William,
Suppose that an organization did not use processes that were designed and built to be agile, particularly when it comes to IS / IT technologies. Predict the impact of environmental changes on an organization financially, socially, and in terms of survivability.
An Agile structure is adaptable to change since it’s developed to be flexible. Even if processes don’t line up with those of an agile structure, little to no impact would take place on the financial, social, and survivability of the BPM. The only thing that could impact these areas are processes that don’t align with the Business Process Perspective.
2. Zykia,
Good morning class reading this chapter for this discussion i found out that ( BPM)is basically a set of tools, skills and optimizes set of IT processes
An agile business process is basically a process that repeats to deliver through a consistent renewal cycle design evaluate and deliver etc etc
if companies did not agile there would be no competition and no money coming in for companies it would not meet customer requirements
So to replace the BPM model would use electronic scans and cloud storage systems that eliminates paper uses with personal information.
3. Shannon,
There is a significant amount of impact to the business. Time- if there is not a updated Business process Management system the business cannot retain a functional time line of the business that can also impact company cost and put them in financial crisis. The IT management process of a business is just as important for functionality. Project delays are also caused by IS enabled business processes. Discontinuing old rules that made the business under perform in the first place.
A BPM model that would help manage and streamline an IT process is Service tickets for installations. They are in one system that takes in the information location and customer name with phone number and given manually to the service rep. A BMP would optimize the existing system. Integration across processes within IT would be more productive.
4. Herman,
In order to automate this process, my suggestion would be to purchase an ERP system. The ERP system would automate the approval process, allow for goods receipt of purchased goods and allow po's to be issued directly from the system and sent electronically to the vendors.
