I am going to go with the obvious major corporation of Amazon.
Amazon started small as a book selling website out of Jeff Bezos garage believe it or not, kicking off the major and now global ecommerce corporation that we know today. Amazon is quickly closing the gaps on all supply chain issues including additions such as drones and robots making it the most profitable ecommerce retailer in the world. Amazon strategically placed all of its big warehouse distribution centers in major metro areas as well as having smaller warehouses in other areas to ensure orders are processed quickly and arrive to the customers fast. Inside of these warehouses pickers and robots pull products almost instantly and move them towards shipment so that they can be sent to the customer in record speeds.
Upon ordering the customer can choose shipping speeds which can include free two day prime delivery or even "Prime Now" in some cities where products will arrive in under 2 hours. As for shipment Amazon utilizes many different existing transportation options but they also have their own amazon delivery vans as well as drones in some major areas. Amazons manufacturing chain includes third party sellers of which they store product in their warehouses for delivery (or not depending on the seller.) They have also begun to manufacture their own products at cheaper prices mainly through outsourcing.

The supply chain fortune 500 company I chose was Target. Target focus on a pick and pack strategy which is “rather than shipping full cases of a product (such as a case containing two dozen jars of pasta sauce, each store receives a tote from the distribution center containing a “mixed bag” of different items they’ve ordered (How Target Ensures its Supply Chain Never Misses the Mark 2020).This helps cut the cost of having an oversupply. Target is really focusing on the technology aspect of supply chain. They believe in supply chain visibility with their product.
Supply chain visibility allows them to have real time tracking through out each process. This has tracking for the whole shipment and this also is good because it reduces the amount of human error. Which potentially cuts backs on mistakes and cost. Another thing target is doing is fulfilling online orders at the local stores and allowing people to drive and pick up their orders. Right now, this is becoming more effective in getting out goods versus in house shopping due to COVID. One last thing is Target has owner brand products which allows them to have better control over its products. Target is really focused on improving all their supply chain needs through technology.
