Discussion prompt: Aldo Leopold (1949/2010) famously said, "a thing is right when it tends to preserve the integrity, stability, and beauty of the biotic community. It is wrong when it tends otherwise" (p. 504). By “biotic community,” Leopold means the local ecosystem.

Explain whether you agree or disagree with this environmental approach to ethics. If you agree, what reasons and examples lead you to support it? If you disagree, what concerns and examples lead you to question it?
