Post two potential research questions related to the Sessions episode. Consider potential ethical or political issues related to the feasibility of investigating the questions. Evaluate each question in terms of how it might:
1. Contribute to development of new knowledge for social work
2. Lead to more effective practice interventions
3. Lead to social change
4. Be useful to other researchers
Finally, explain the criteria you used to decide which sources of information should be included. Please use the resources to support your answer.
Is there any relationship between the intensity of punishment and the frequency of sexual assault cases?
How has the presence of code of ethics contributed to reduction in sexual assault cases at work place?
There are several ethical considerations that are normally considered in any research question. These ethical issues have to be considered when formulating a research questions. For examples in the above research questions, the issues are so sensitive and so it will require some level of assurance of the confidentiality of the information given by the respondents.
These questions have some considerable contribution to the development of new knowledge in social work. Taking the first question it will help establish the relationship between the two variables that is punishment and sexual assault cases. The knowledge can actually be used to understand the concept better in the field of social work. The next question on the ethical code will contribute significantly to the understanding the importance of the ethical code in the field. The video file actually elaborates the issue of ethics more so on the relationship between Sherry and Talia and where they end up in the party (Laureate Education, 2013).
These questions will be useful to the other researchers more so when they are dealing with a topic of sexual assault or on any similar research study. They can easily use this questions to come up with some variables in their study. It is quite clear that these questions are closely related more so on the topic that they are discussing, they are also broad and some when discussed in the research they will provide so much useful information in other studies (Yegidis, Weinbach & Myers, 2018).
When it comes to the sources of information it will basically involve looking for articles and books that discuss the same or similar topic. These sources will provide information which can as well be paraphrased to be more relevant to any of the topics being discussed in this case. The sources are available in the internet just like the articles in this case by David Lisak.
So generally as it appears it is very crucial to come up with some solid and reasonable research questions. It is these questions that will determine the intensity of the study and its relevant to the society. The quality of the question therefore determines the relevance of the particular research study.
