In toolmark examination, if an examiner identifies a toolmark on one end of the pipe to a particular tool, do you think it is necessary to try and identify all of the toolmarks on the evidence back to the particular tool?

Firearms examination is a subdiscipline of toolmark examination. From an examination point of view, do you think that it is easier for the examiner to work on a firearms case or a toolmark case? Give reasons for the answer.
