Discussion Board 1

Discussion Board Instructions
In Modules/Weeks 1–5, you will participate in Discussion Board Forums by submitting a thread in response to the provided prompt; you will also submit at least 2 replies in response to your classmates’ threads. The forum topics present thought-provoking questions or prompts building upon the textbook and Bible readings. Each forum is designed to both enhance your learning experience as you write about your ideas, perspectives, and experiences as well as receive feedback from your classmates. Both the frequency of your participation and the depth of the content you write will affect your grade. Use the Discussion Board Grading Rubric to improve the quality of your contributions. Follow the specific requirements described below.
Thread
For each forum, submit a thread in response to the provided prompt. Your thread must contain 200–250 words. This limit promotes writing that is thorough yet concise enough to permit your classmates to read all the posts. Each thread must adhere to current APA writing guidelines, and any references included in the thread must be formatted in current APA format. Since this is a personal discussion, you are allowed to use first-person perspective; however, you must maintain professional decorum in all your posts.
Replies
After reading all of your classmates’ threads, you must submit a reply to at least 2 of them. You must also substantiate your position by using at least 1 citation from the resources that you have used throughout the module/week. Each reply must be at least 100 words and must adhere to current APA writing guidelines.
Be sure to click “Reply” within the thread you intend to respond to. Also, note that “I like what you said,” “That’s a good comment,” and “I disagree with your comment” do not count as a complete reply in and of themselves. Rather, stating why you liked or disliked the comment, adding additional thoughts or ideas to the original comment, and/or providing alternative thoughts or ideas when you disagree count as a reply. Courtesy in any disagreement is required. Thus, personal attacks are not acceptable and will count against you in your grade.
Note
Let God be True is a helpful resource for the Proverbs-related forums.
Submit your thread by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Thursday of the assigned modules/weeks and submit your replies by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Sunday of the same modules/weeks.
