Discussion: Leaders and Stakeholders’ Perspectives
Assignment:
Write a 1 ½ -page description of the characteristics of an effective leader of change in working in the education field at a Head Start Agency.
· Provide specific examples from your own experience with leaders. (These leaders will be the Executive Director, Education Specialist and Center Manager)

In my experience the job duty of our Executive Director for our Head Start Agency is to provide vision, motivation, and leadership to all Head Start employees, families, and volunteers. Devise and implement a participate management system which pushes decision making and accountability down to the lowest appropriate level. Duties for the Executive Director will include managing company assets, optimizing financial operations, establishing business goals, ensuring tax compliance, advising the board of directors on organizational activities, overseeing, and streamlining daily operations, and improving staff.
In working for the head start agency I learned that the Education Specialist evaluate and provide recommendations to improve curriculum planning, individual lessons, and teaching methods at one or more grade levels. They also help coordinate and communicate expectations and progress among students' parents/guardians, guidance counselors and teachers.
However, the Center Manger job is responsible for the overall operation of the Head Start Center for children and staff in a manner that contributes to the growth and development of children and the professional growth and development of staff. It is the manager responsibility establish and maintain a positive emotional site climate using a collaborative approach to accomplish program work. Model the highest standard of professional ethics, establish supportive relationships with all program participants, and oversee center communication systems and procedures.
